Thanks to everyone who came out to the Pumpkin Carving Party! A total of 90 pumpkins were carved, and we raised a record amount in support of our cancer survivors hoping for scholarships. Also, a huge thank-you to our sponsors HEB, Lily’s Cookies, Rivercity Produce, and to volunteers from the Olmos Park Youth Commission.
Our Fun Run on March 24th, 2018, brought out families and friends to race, enjoy a grilled lunch, receive prizes and medals, compete in games, and allow kids to have fun on the Kinsley’s Kastels bounce houses. We’d like to give a big thank-you to all our sponsors: HEB, Lily’s Cookies, Home Sweet Home of Boerne, Great American Cookies, U-Run, Evy Gillum, Texas Foster Care and Adoption Services, Zachry Corporation, and the Martin and Denise Landon Family Foundation.
Kids 4 Kids hosted its annual Pumpkin Carving Party in Alameda Circle. Friends and neighbors came out for charity and pumpkin carving fun. Thanks to our sponsors River City Produce, Lily's Cookies and H.E.B. for supporting Kids 4 Kids in raising funds for Childhood Cancer Survivors!
On October 20th, Kids 4 Kids with Cancer wore customized bald caps in solidarity with those bravely battling cancer. K4K was very excited to partner with the amazing Be Bold, Be Bald organization, joining together to raise awareness.
Cured is an award-winning and cutting-edge restaurant in San Antonio's Pearl District. Each quarter, Chef McHugh selects a charitable organization to receive one dollar from every charcuterie board sold. Kids 4 Kids was the lucky recipient of this truly incredible program in the winter of 2016, and we are extremely grateful for Cured's generous contribution.
Kids 4 Kids' Annual Pumpkin Carving Party is the fundraiser that started it all! Families and neighborhood friends come out to support childhood cancer survivors while pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, and prizes for the best jack-o-lantern. K4K would like to thank in particular our sponsors: River City Produce, H-E-B, and Lily's Cookies.
In fall of 2015, Kids 4 Kids with Cancer teamed up with Vineyard Vines in Houston Highland Village to raise awareness for childhood cancer. In just one evening, over $750 was generated, helping to fund the educations of childhood cancer survivors. We were so happy to partner with such a great retailer such as Vineyard Vines. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to support us!
For a spring fundraising event, Kids 4 Kids hosted a 4-on-4 lacrosse tournament. The tournament took place at the esplanade on Reba Drive. We divided our participants into six groups and began the exhilarating tournament. When our players were not competing we offered extra goals to practice their skills. As the games proceeded, we provided refreshments such as Gatorade and snacks, and everyone went home with a tournament t-shirt! We are very thankful to all of our contributors for their generous donations.
Our second fundraiser was held at the West University Scout House. It was a small party featuring a local band, Customer Service, composed of typical neighborhood kids; a perfect fit for our charity Kids-4-Kids. The band performed songs at the pizza party, which was generously sponsored by Pink’s Pizza. Children at the party had a good time listening and dancing to Customer Service. Finally, towards the end of the party, we held a raffle in which we handed out 3 prizes. The main prize was a basketball signed by our very own Rockets player, Brad Miller. He was one of the first neighborhood supporters of our cause and we feel fortunate to have him in our community. The spring party helped us raise more funding for scholarships.
Hosted at the St. John's track and field facility, Kids 4 Kids put on a fun run for charity. Participants came out and ran a 5K for childhood cancer survivors. First Place winners received Rocket's Player Basketball Sneakers and fun was had by all.
